Anna McCartney, Communications and Education Specialist, joined PASG in 2008 and serves as PASG’s main communication staff member as well as coastal educator. Many of Anna’s programs and work have received national, state, and local recognition and awards. Since joining PASG in 2008, she has written and provided teacher lesson plans for 187 weekly Tuesday pages in the Erie Times-News through its NIE program, which have received two first place state awards for literacy and community involvement in 2011 and 2013. Anna also works on BWET and other education projects that support community efforts to restore, preserve, and protect the Lake Erie watershed through education and environmental projects. In October 2012, she received the Great Lakes Sea Grant Network Outstanding Program Award for her work on Pharmaceuticals and Personal Care Products and in June 2014 for “NOAA BWET Great Lakes Great Stewards.” Anna received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh in Education (Biology).
