Sarah Whitney, Extension Director and Associate Director, joined PASG in 2004. Sarah has more than fifteen years of experience in the policy, research, and outreach aspects of natural resource management. Whitney leads the Pennsylvania Sea Grant Susquehanna River office, which focuses on improving water quality in the Susquehanna River, Pennsylvania’s largest watershed. Her extension projects focus primarily on aquatic invasive species prevention and watershed planning. She earned her Master of Forestry degree with a focus on protected area management from the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies, and has a bachelor’s degree in Biology from Bates College. Sarah began working for Pennsylvania Sea Grant in 2004 in the Delaware River office, and in 2008 became the associate director for the Susquehanna office. Before joining Pennsylvania Sea Grant, Whitney worked for the Great Lakes Commission in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
