Please take our climate webinar series Survey Recorded Webinars: October 26, 2010 The Ecological Impacts of Climate Change on North American Forests Speaker: Dr. Marc Abrams, Penn State University Dr. Abrams is a professor of forest ecology and physiology at Penn State University in the School of Forest Resources. He received his masters of Science and Ph.D. at Michigan State University. His academic interests include distrub ecology, old growth forests, tree physiology and vegetation classification.
September 20, 2010 Climate Change Impacts on Public Beach Access, Beach Ownership, and Riparian Erosion Stephanie Showalter is the director of the National Sea Grant Law Center. She received her bachelor's degree in history from Penn State University, and also holds a joint J.D./Master's of Studies in Environmental Law degree from Vermont Law School. As director, Stephanie advises Sea Grant constituents on ocean and coastal law issues, researches and publishes papers on natural resources, marine, and environmental law issues, and supervises law student research and writing projects. She also currently serves as the editor of the Sea Grant Law and Policy Journal.
August 10, 2010 Pennsylvania's Changing Climate—Trends and Impacts James S. Shortle is a Distinguished Professor of Agricultural and Environmental Economics in the Department of Agricultural Economics and Rural Sociology, and Director of the Environment and Natural Resources Institute, in the College of Agricultural Sciences, Penn State University. He received a PhD in Economics from Iowa State University in 1981 and been on the faculty at Penn State since 1981. His current research focuses on the design of economic incentives and markets to achieve environmental goals and sustainability, environmental policy for agriculture, and the impacts of climate change on agriculture, human health and water resources.
