Watershed Improvements
West Branch of Cascade Creek Streambank Restoration
This project involved channel stabilization to reduce erosion, and the restoration of the riparian buffer zone along 500 feet of this stream located in Frontier Park in the City of Erie. Sea Grant prepared two grant applications to the Great Lakes Commission on behalf of the Erie County Conservation District for $100,000 to complete design and construction of this project. These funds were approved in 2004. Additional funds were obtained by the District to complete this $154,000 project. The final project was constructed in May and June 2006.
