The Community Resilience Action Network of Erie (CRANE) is an alliance of several organizations in the Erie region that have a commitment to developing a climate-conscious community through education, coordination, and implementation of projects that address climate change and build a resilient community.
Partners: Northwest Pennsylvania Green Economy Taskforce (NWPAGE), Environment Erie, Erie County, and PA Sea Grant.
The CRW holds yearly educational events as well as a yearly annual summit that is organized around a different theme. The goal of the summits are to equip stakeholders and the public with the resources to best meet the needs of the community:
Climate Action Plan
In 2014, the regional Destination Erie planning effort (now Emerge 2040) listed development of a climate action plan as the number one priority and need for the environmental portion of Erie's strategic plan. The CRW was identified as the entity to take the lead on developing the action plan, and is currently working with the community to develop the plan.
