This free webinar will provide an overview of the Choose Native initiative, a project led by Pennsylvania Sea Grant and Penn State Extension. The primary focus is to prevent invasive species introductions, those made through the landscaping and water gardening industry, and to introduce native species alternatives to landscaping with non-native, invasive species.
Results from statewide landscaping industry surveys will be presented, and the next steps in creating a Choose Native guide for landscapers, water gardeners, and homeowners will be discussed.
Funding for the Choose Native initiative was received from the Richard King Mellon Foundation in partnership with the Great Lakes Commission.
