Workshop will help educators and students investigate environmental issues in local watersheds using GIS and Geospatial technology

(Harrisburg, PA) – Formal and non-formal K-12 educators are encouraged to register for a free online professional development series which will inform and instruct participants to apply GIS tools in the classroom, enabling educators and students to investigate environmental issues in local watersheds. Expanding Meaningful Environmental and Watershed Literacy with Geospatial Technology Tools and Practice is a seven-week synchronous online learning series that will enable educators to learn and apply GIS tools, investigate environmental issues in their local watershed, integrate spatial learning into existing curriculum, and design and implement a hands-on, inquiry-based unit.

A stipend is available for eligible Pennsylvania K-12 educators. To receive the credits and stipend all assignments must be completed by October 31, 2025.
