Olivia Szaszko

Olivia Szaszko joined Pennsylvania Sea Grant in July 2026 as digital engagement specialist. In this role, she helps elevate the Program’s communications capacity to expand audience reach by creating and managing compelling content that informs and connects people to the Great Lakes, coastal, and watershed resources they need. Specifically, she develops and manages social media content, tracks trends and manages platforms, creates engaging visual resources, assists in managing the Program’s website, and produces stories that increase audience awareness.

Olivia graduated from Penn State World Campus in December 2025 with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing Management. While pursuing her degree she worked for the Schreyer Institute for Teaching Excellence, promoting the program online and via social media, and for the College of Education, assisting in the coordination of marketing efforts. She also volunteered for Penn State’s student-led International and Transfer Students Association as video editor, a role she maintains as an alumna. Olivia works remotely from Pittsburgh.
