Aquaponics is a powerful teaching tool for Pre-K-12 learners. From engineering to chemistry, business to food health and even global food security, aquaponics addresses many topics and applies placed-based learning methods.
This free one-and-a-half-day workshop is for Pre-K-12 formal and nonformal educators and will cover the basics of aquaculture and aquaponics, including tours of local facilities, make and take aquaponics system, and resource sharing.
This educator development program includes a $250 participation stipend, and PA Act 48 hours for Pennsylvania certified K-12 teachers as applicable. Registration priority is for PA educators; other states’ educators will be added to a waitlist and notified if space is available.
