Environmental educators from across Pennsylvania are encouraged to participate in the 2024 Pennsylvania Environmental Education Survey, an initiative of the PA Environmental Literacy Network. Pennsylvania Sea Grant is a member of the Network which includes representatives from government agencies, nonprofits, and schools. The Network works together to increase environmental literacy throughout the Commonwealth by focusing on shared goals toward a vision where all Pennsylvanians are environmentally literate, prepared with the knowledge and skills to make informed decisions about complex environmental issues, and can take action to sustain a healthy environment for present and future generations.
By taking the 2024 survey, educators can help shape the future of Environmental Education (EE) in Pennsylvania, by providing valuable insights about the status and needs of organizations and schools engaged in teaching and learning about the environment. The results will be used to help identify professional development needs, enhance knowledge of watershed education practices, and grow environmental education capacity.
The survey takes approximately 15 minutes to complete, but educator input will have a lasting impact! Privacy is guaranteed (personal details are for follow-up only and will remain confidential). The deadline to participate is May 27, 2024.
The survey is an initiative of the statewide PA Environmental Literacy Network led by Stroud Water Research Center, the PA Department of Education, Pennsylvania Sea Grant, PA Department of Environmental Protection, PA Bureau of State Parks, PA Association of Environmental Educators, Millersville University, Chesapeake Bay Foundation’s Harrisburg office, and Intermediate Units with funding from NOAA’s Chesapeake Bay Office.
