Join the Sea Grant Great Lakes Network and the Center for Great Lakes Literacy for the 2024 Sea Grant Great Lakes Blitz – April 22 through May 18, 2024.
What’s blooming, flying, hopping, or maybe just growing around you? You’re invited to participate in the Sea Grant Great Lakes BioBlitz, a month-long event to observe, identify, and record as many different, non-domesticated species as possible within an a given area.
Anyone in U.S. States & Canadian provinces within (or adjacent to) the Great Lakes Basin are welcome to join! Observations and photos are submitted through the iNaturalist app. The event is supported by the Center for Great Lakes Literacy, the Sea Grant Great Lakes Network, and iNaturalist. The Sea Grant Great Lakes Network is made up of the seven Sea Grant programs operating in the Great Lakes region, including Illinois-Indiana Sea Grant, Lake Champlain Sea Grant, Michigan Sea Grant, Minnesota Sea Grant, New York Sea Grant, Ohio Sea Grant, and Wisconsin Sea Grant.
The Center for Great Lakes Literacy (CGLL) is a collaborative effort led by Sea Grant educators throughout the Great Lakes watershed. CGLL fosters informed and responsible decisions that advance basin-wide stewardship by providing hands-on experiences, educational resources, and networking opportunities promoting Great Lakes literacy among an engaged community of educators, scientists, and youth.
